For over thirty years, I have been listening to people's stories and helping them figure out their next best step in life. At the age of 50, I finally decided to take action on one of my own dreams and started my coaching practice primarily working with clients in higher eduction, as seen at www.transitioningyourlife.com.
I help scholars at all levels realize their dreams in and out of academia. Clients often come to me for help getting their writing done for promotion, or to find a way out of academia. I also work with women in the midst of major life transitions to determine their next best area of development. In regularly scheduled conversations, we jointly discover and create the next steps to achieving their dream career or life goals.
Experience
In my own academic career, I was always interested in looking for cultural and mythical themes appearing in people's stories as they searched for their own answers to a meaningful existence. This is especially important when dealing with major life transitions such as relocation, change of career (after putting in years to get to a place they thought they wanted to be only to discover otherwise) or even life-threatening experiences.
Education
I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from George Washington University. I hold two masters degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Arts in Social Anthropology, and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration, after making a conscious decision to leave a nearly completed PhD program of studies.
